The CertiLite System
Protected membrane roof (PMR) systems, using CertiLite extruded polystyrene board with drainage channels above the membrane and RayLite expanded polystyrene below, offer the advantages of PMR designs at a more economical price. The top layer of CertiLite board provides physical protection, drainage and thermal insulation for the single-ply membrane. Versatile and economical RayLite EPS insulation below provides the other half to this long-lasting insulation system. An outstanding system at a bargain price. RayLite EPS board is available in a variety of thicknesses, densities, R-Values and flat or tapered to suit your project needs. Appropriate thermal barriers are required over steel decks. EPS may be loose-laid or mechanically attached. Consult membrane manufacturer to determine compatibility with polystyrene insulations. CertiLite boards which are 4' x 4' and 1" thick are loose-laid with drainage channels down, directly on top of the roofing membrane. An ultraviolet resistant fabric is then installed over the CertiLite and ballasted with 3/4" - 1 1/2" river-washed stone ballast (10 psf field, 13 psf perimeter). Consult DiversiFoam Products regarding parapet requirements or special conditions. CertiLite boards may also be used below-grade to provide positive drainage, protection and insulation for waterproofing and foundations. The CertiLite system is a patented system. U.S. Patent Number 4,530,193, Patented Canada 1988. |
