CertiVent - Attic Ventilation Chutes

CertiVent -- Extruded polystyrene attic insulation chutes improves airflow above attic insulation. This helps prevent ice buildup at the eaves and increases attic insulation efficiency. CertiVents also aid in reducing attic heat gain in the summer.

CertiVents are manufactured from strong yet lightweight extruded polystyrene, the same material DiversiFoam Products uses to manufacture CertiFoam insulation. CertiVents are moisture resistant, crush proof, and are easily stapled into place on the underside of the roof sheathing.

CertiVents measure 22" wide by 48" long. This additional length allows you to install more attic insulation when using CertiVents than the competitors 42" long chutes. CertiVents are a stock "ONE SIZE" product. Simply snap the 22" wide chute in half for two 11" wide chutes enabling you to use the same vent for 24" or 16" O.C. framing.

CertiVents are packaged 50 vents to a box or bag.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES

CertiVents meet building code section 3205 when six 22" wide vents are installed per 300 sq. ft. of attic floor area with a ventilated ridge or twelve 22" wide vents when ridge is not ventilated. Double the above number of vents for 11" wide CertiVents.

NEW CONSTRUCTION: Place CertiVents on the underside of the roof sheathing between framing members and slide down into soffit area 6". Staple CertiVent into place. Install attic insulation against vents.

EXISTING CONSTRUCTION: Move attic insulation back from roof sheathing. Place CertiVents on the underside of the roof sheathing between framing members and slide down into soffit area 6". Staple CertiVent into place. Repack attic insulation against vents.

When using CertiVents for 16" O.C. framing, simply snap apart 22" wide vents along score mark for two 11" vents.

CAUTION: Like most construction materials, extruded polystyrene is combustible. It should not be exposed to flame or other ignition sources during shipping, storage, installation or use. Current model building code requirements should be met for adequate protection or separation from occupied areas.
