DiversiFoam Products manufactures block-molded expanded polystyrene (EPS)
products, as well as extruded boards of polystyrene and fabricated urethane
blocks. Most of these products are sold for use in the construction industry
(new and retrofit). DiversiFoam Products also manufactures a wide variety of
board for specialty applications including wall insulation, roofing insulation,
garage door panels, foundation insulation, sheathing, dock floatation, and
packaging - both protective and decorative.
EPS board made from molded block is relatively low cost, offering the highest R-value ( insulation capability) per dollar of any of the company's product offerings. Extruded polystyrene board, while more expensive than EPS, offers higher R-value per inch, higher compressive strength with less moisture absorption. Rigid urethane offers even higher R-value per inch and even more compressive strength than extruded polystyrene. Rigid urethane is often used as a roofing insulation where it can be installed directly onto a metal roof deck.
Packaging products are also manufactured from EPS. DiversiFoam Products produces two major packaging product lines: wire cut and shape molded. Each type uses expanded polystyrene, however, in the wire cut segment , we fabricate the part out of a standard billet of EPS using hot wires controlled by a computer-numerical-control. The shape molded product is produced to specific dimensions through the use of die molds built specifically for the part being generated.
